REGENT STREET GETS READY FOR A TASTE OF GOLFING ACTION
Golf fans across London will have the chance to sample the best of what Spanish golf has to offer when London’s Regent Street plays host to the ‘Taste of Spain’ event on Sunday 6th June.
Visitors will be able to wander through 80 years of Spanish sporting history and experience the diversity of sporting activities that are now available in Spain, including a host of golf installations and interactive experiences in the Madrid area to promote the region’s bid to host the Ryder Cup in 2018.
Research conducted by the bid amongst UK golf fans revealed that Spain was the preferred destination to host the 2018 Ryder Cup out of all the bidding nations, while the country itself was the number one destination for UK golf tourists thanks to its fantastic weather, quality of golf courses and proximity to local amenities.
Those interested in honing their golfing technique will be able to chat with professional golf coaches, or have a go on the state-of-the-art golf simulator, where visitors will be able to experience the highs and lows of playing at some of the world’s finest golf courses. A host of great prizes will also be up for grabs throughout the day including branded Madrid 2018 merchandise and an all-expenses paid trip to Madrid for 2 people.
A ‘Taste of Spain’ will take place on Regent Street, London, W1, from 12noon – 7pm on Sunday 6th June 2010. Entrance is free of charge. The Region of Madrid stand will be situated between the junction of Heddon Street and Warwick Street.
