Following the tremendous success of the 2008 Centenary Match between the Royal Navy and The Army at Lord’s where over 6,000 servicemen and their families and friends watched an excellent days cricket at the home of Cricket and raised over £10,000 for help for Heroes. The MCC have invited the Services to play the final game of the 2009 Inter-Services Festival Competition at Lord’s.
* The 2009 Inter-Services Cricket Festival will take place at Aldershot on Mon 3 Aug 09 Army v RAF and Tue 4 Aug 09 RN v RAF at Aldershot and Thu 6 Aug 09 at Lord’s.
* Tickets for the match at Lord’s (£12 adults, £6 Over 65/U16) are available in advance (details below) or on the gate.
* The match is being supported by a number of companies.
* The event will also be supporting the ‘Help for Heroes’ charity who will be collecting at the ground.
* The match is also open to members of the public and it is hoped that as many as possible will attend to support both the match and the ‘Help for Heroes’ charity.
* Gates open at 10am for an 11am start and the game is expected to finish by 6.30pm.
In addition to the cricket, entertainment will be provided by a Military band. The usual bars, restaurants and food stands will be open for business throughout the day.
Tickets will be available on the gate, in order to assure availability, you are encouraged to purchase them in advance through the ticket hotline on 01252 334415. Please note that tickets are not seat-specific and that they are not refundable in case of inclement weather.
