Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds @ Aberdeen Exhibition Centre - Description

Following the hugely successful and critically acclaimed sell-out UK tours in both 2006 and 2007, as well as the Australian/New Zealand Tour in September 2007, the highly anticipated “Jeff Wayne’s The War of the Worlds” – which features international hit singles – ‘The Eve of The War’ and Forever Autumn’, will be returning to the UK in June 2009.

Jeff Wayne will again be conducting The Black Smoke Band and The ULLAdubULLA Strings. Starring TV, records & theatre sensation Jennifer Ellison as Beth, Parson Nathaniel’s wife, and returning for the third consecutive year Moody Blues Justin Hayward as The Sung Thoughts of The Journalist, and Manfred Mann’s Chris Thompson as The Voice of Humanity and Alexis James as The Artilleryman. The newest addition to the cast is Australia’s No 1 artist and MTV’s Best Male Artist 3 years running Shannon Noll, who will take up the role of Parson Nathaniel.

The production includes:

  • 11-foot high 3D photo-real floating hologram of Richard Burton, In Sight and Sound, as George Herbert, The Journalist
  • 3-tonne, 35-foot tall Martian Fighting Machine firing Heat Rays at the audience and scanning them with its bug-like eyes
  • 100-foot wide by 25 foot high screen projecting CGI-animation and live performances throughout the show
  • Flame, Pyro and other exciting special effects to heighten the audience’s interactive experience!

But the 2009 Anniversary tour will be even bigger and better!
