Anna Whitelock @ 13 Tower Street - Description
Anna Whitelock’s book Mary Tudor is an assured and impassioned debut that takes an unorthodox view of a women who was a princess one minute, a disinherited bastard the next. It tells of her Spanish heritage and the significance of Suffolk in her success, whilst exploring the formative experiences that made Mary the determined and single-minded queen she became.
Anna Whitelock, a brilliant young historian, has written extensively on Tudor History and advised on the Powerhouse to Poorhouse exhibition at Framlingham’s Castle. It was here that Mary rallied her supporters and won the throne of England.
Anna Whitelock talks to Dr Nicola Stacey, Senior Properties Historian at English Heritage.
Seasonal Lunch, with Adnams, follows the talk.
