Radio City Theatre @ Theatre Royal - Description

Remember those halcyon days when radio drama ruled the airwaves? Have a yen for genuinely funny, un-cynical family entertainment? Then tune in – and take your seats – for Radio City Theatre at The Theatre Royal on October 24th at 3pm.
RCT is a Brighton-based company embracing the gentle, golden age of radio; with a happy twist – it’s for your listening and viewing pleasure.
In front of your eyes a talented cast bring to vivid life a variety of classic tweaked scripts – from Sherlock Holmes to Frankenstein – as well as absurdly clever comedy sketches by award-winning local writer Joseph Nixon, with ingenious live sound effects and a panoply of unexpected characters.
This charming and refreshingly cheeky tribute to yesteryear guarantees a highly entertaining event in the beautiful setting of the Theatre Royal…

‘I was intrigued to see if this live format would work – and it does, quite brilliantly. The audience were enthralled and entertained.’ Andrew Kay, The Latest
‘It’s always a joy to see really good, versatile actors play the moment, interpreting scripts with skill and playfulness.’ Fringereview.co.uk
RCT has been in almost monthly residence for a year at The Brunswick in Hove. The seasoned cast includes two ex-soap stars (Victoria Gould: EastEnders, Marcus Hutton: Brookside), former Pirate of the Caribbean Dermot Keaney as well as the vocal wizardry and cheeky wordsmithery of Emma Kilbey plus the shape-shifting musical marvel that is Stephen Hiscock, from the world-renowned Ensemblebash.
