The British and Irish Lions kick off their epic tour to South Africa with this match against Royal XV.

Rugby Union doesn’t get any better than the might of the best from Britain and Ireland versus the nation which holds the Rugby Union World Champions status!

This curtain raiser is sure to be a furious event as each ‘side’ looks to stamp authority on the tour.

   They are also being referred to as “Royal XV” for this match (I just changed the name after getting the Lions press release – they had previously referred to them as Highveld XV… very confusing!)! Hope that helps you find some more out.

   Unfortunately, I won’t be able to catch the tests on this Lions Tour , so those of you who will be following the Lions right through – I’m jealous!
