The Rake's Progress @ Somerset House - Description
Glyndebourne Opera is one of the highlights of the English social season. This year’s programme includes Billy Budd, Cosi fan Tutti, The Rake’s Progress and Hansel & Gretel.
Somerset House in the centre of London are offering a screening of the full-length opera direct from Glyndebourne so that city slickers can benefit from the full glory of the countryside performance without leaving the capital.
Picnics and rugs can be ordered in advance from Somerset House.
Stravinsky wrote The Rake’s Progress in 1951, a modern morality play inspired by WH Auden.
