Join us on Saturday 31st July for a day of good old fashioned fun and games at
The Water Poet Barn & Garden Party. Celebrate high summer in our glorious enclosed garden in the heart of Spitalfields where you’ll find plenty on offer to delight and amuse from midday.
Relax on the decking and watch Silent Cinema on our outdoor screen with giant awning, where Hayley Wright (East End Film Festival), has selected black & white classics from Chaplin and Keaton to show along side premiere shorts by local film makers.
We’ve two games of afternoon bingo arranged in our newly opened garden barn at
3 and 5pm in support of community based charity Spitalfields Crypt Trust, with great prizes kindly donated by local businesses.
There’s live jazz at intervals on our large sunny patio; perfect for a summer’s afternoon, surrounded by beautiful blooms and gorgeous garden decorations.
Or why not have fun with our optional dress code and embrace the spirit of a ‘traditional English garden party‘. We expect to see plenty of tea-dresses, decorative hats, parasols and straw boaters on show. Our photographers will be on hand to give prizes to the best dressed people and all willing participants will appear in our garden party gallery via the website. .
A variety of tasty treats will be on offer throughout the day, including full hog roast, a menu consisting of traditional English fayre, delicious home-made cakes, breads & pastries prepared by Bernie’s Pantry, plus pickles & preserves exclusively supplied by West Cork duo Brazen Tasty. Wonderful ice creams and real fruit lollies are provided by London based independent makers Ice Cream Union.
Refreshments from the barn bar include organic real ales, super summer cocktails from our specially designed menu, chilled sparkling wines and fresh fruit juices.
Spend £10 or more on a single food purchase and you’ll receive a limited edition Water Poet cotton shopper, ethically produced by Fair Trade accredited company
Bag It Don’t Bin It, and featuring our newly designed crest.
Sun hats at the ready, it’s going to be a goody!
